The mixed under-15s kicked off the Stawell Wildcats Domestic Basketball week on Monday, with Middy’s Electrical (ME) and Russ McGregor Electrical (RME) both scoring wins.
The mixed under-15s kicked off the Stawell Wildcats Domestic Basketball week on Monday, with Middy’s Electrical (ME) and Russ McGregor Electrical (RME) both scoring wins.
ME defeated Monaghan’s Real Estate (MRE) 29-20, with Charlie Hope leading the scoring with 14 points. Indi Gorman led the way for MRE, scoring eight.
RME defeated Stawell Harness Racing (SHR) 50-41 in a high-scoring encounter. Jacob Matthew Ramos and Jack McGregor both led the way for RME with 26 and 18 points, respectively.
SHR was led by Billy Delahunty and Lucas Jenkins with 17 and 12, respectively.
On Tuesday, in the under-12 mixed, both Split and Stawell (SS) and Stawell Toyota (ST) secured wins.
SS defeated Women’s Day Basketball (WDB), 35-24. Henry Ellis scored a game-high 17 points with Tom Margetson scoring 12 for the victors, while Rex Homden led the way for WMD with ten and Max Batchelor, assisting with eight points.
ST defeated Brian Thomas Electrical (BTE), 25-13.
Jack Delahunty scored a game-high 13 points for ST, with Mason Rayner scoring six, while Hunter Weavell and Hunter Davies led the way for BTE with six and four, respectively. Alfie Freeland scored the other three points.
In the women’s competition, Black and Red both secured wins.
Red defeated Blue in a two-point thriller, 32-30. Jade Cross scored a game-high ten points for Red, while Elishia Murphy and Tessa O’Callaghan were the better players for Blue with six and five points, respectively.
Black defeated White 33-24 in the other match, with Erin Freeland leading the way with a game-high ten points for Black. Claire Hopper scored nine, while Charmaine Lockwood contributed eight.
Al Cameron and Samantah Cook both scored six points apiece for White.
In the senior men’s competition on Wednesday, Ballstars defeated Mighty Ducks 61-47. Jarred O’Hayon scored a game-high 22 points for Ballstars, with teammate Miles Erkelens scoring 13. Matt Strests scored 14 points for the Mighty Ducks.
The Warriors defeated Wildcats U18 52-41. Jesse Barber was outstanding with 24 points for the victors, with teammate Lucky Ika chipping in with ten.
Ador Kongor scored 15 for the Wildcats, with Blair Sheen scoring 10.
Yetis thrashed Pinoy Allstars 58-27. Xavier McLoughlan was outstanding with 23 points, while Riley Pevitt and Domage Domage scored 16 and 13, respectively.
Lourd Jacinto led the way for Pinoy Allstars with 13.
